1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using DayBuddy (“the Application”) or its accompanying web pages, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) entered into with Rathi Apps (“Company”, “we”, or “us”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Application.

2. Description of DayBuddy

DayBuddy is a personal productivity and focus companion designed for Android devices. The Application provides daily timetable scheduling, contextual phone-use awareness, and gentle companion reminders to help users stay aligned with their planned activities. DayBuddy is not parental-control software, an emergency service, or a medical intervention tool.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Maintaining compatibility of your Android device and operating system.
Configuring your daily schedules, reminders, and activity categories.
Maintaining the confidentiality of any Google Play or Firebase account credentials associated with your device.

4. Appropriate Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or tamper with the Application, its backend APIs, or companion asset packages, except to the extent permitted by applicable law. You may not use DayBuddy for any unlawful purpose or in violation of device manufacturer terms.

5. Permissions and Device Capabilities

Certain advanced companion capabilities—such as foreground application observation and screen overlay dialogs—depend on Android platform permissions (e.g., Usage Access, Display over other apps). You may grant, revoke, or modify these permissions at any time via Android system settings. Revoking permissions will limit automated detection features but will not prevent manual timetable planning.

6. Availability

We strive to provide continuous, high-quality software experiences. However, we do not warrant that DayBuddy will be error-free or uninterrupted. Background execution may be subject to device-specific battery optimization settings, vendor customizations (OEM task killers), or operating system updates.

7. Third-Party Services

DayBuddy interacts with third-party platforms, including Google Play and Google Firebase. Your interactions with third-party platforms are governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

8. Advertising / Premium Features where applicable

DayBuddy may offer optional premium subscriptions or one-time features. All purchases and billing transactions are processed through Google Play Billing in accordance with Google Play Terms of Service. Pricing, taxes, and renewal terms are presented authoritatively in the Google Play purchase interface.

9. Buddy Purchases / Digital Content where applicable

Digital content—including optional companion characters, visual animation styles, and cosmetic items—are licensed, not sold, for personal, non-commercial use within the DayBuddy application. Entitlements are tied to your authorized Google Play account.

10. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, product names, logos, character designs (including the Buddy mascot, Bookworm, Grandpa, and Detective), software code, artwork, audio, and visual presentations are the proprietary intellectual property of Rathi Apps or its licensors. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.

11. Disclaimers

Productivity Tool Only: DayBuddy is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. DayBuddy makes no medical, psychological, health, or behavioral treatment claims. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent digital addiction, attention disorders, or any medical condition.

We do not guarantee specific productivity outcomes, screen-time reductions, academic improvements, or professional results.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Rathi Apps, its affiliates, directors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, device interruption, or missed appointments, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use DayBuddy.

13. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, update, enhance, or discontinue features of DayBuddy at any time. Changes to these Terms will be posted on this website with an updated effective date.

14. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Application from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access to online companion backend services if you breach these Terms.
